"An ode to life and the transience of human beings and human bodies alike, ATOMS is a series of images portraying an imagined moment of obliteration in the face of nuclear destruction. In his series, Canadian-born and London-based photographer Bryan Huynh walks the fine line between pulsating life and sudden physical annihilation. Rather than focusing on the bleakness of death and destruction or visualising the scientific process of atomic demolition, it is the heightened emotions inherent in the moment he seeks to portray. Using various means of post-production, his colourful and dynamic approach towards the sinister subject involves people dissolving in rays of colours and stardust, captured in expressive poses that underline the transcendence of the moment. ATOMS attempts to distil existence down to its purest form, resulting in what Huynh calls ‘a testament to the power of life’”
